International Training Course Accreditation
from the British Bodyguard Association

The British Bodyguard Association is now able to provide course accreditation for recognised international training providers. Many countries have their own authorised training and accreditation system, the objective of BBA accreditation is to implement a recognised GLOBAL standard of training, on top of any national accreditation training providers may already have. International training accreditation is necessary and needed and facilitates easier recognition of international standards for global recruitment, multi-team and international operations.

In order to obtain International BBA Accreditation, course providers will need to show us that they provide a HIGH level of training. BBA Course Accreditation is prestigious and esteemed and will only be given to recognised training providers who are able to provide comprehensive proof of training.

The BBA is able to provide International Course Accreditation for providers of the following courses:

• Close (Executive) Protection
• First Aid and Medic Training
• Vehicle and Driver Training
• Weapons Training
• CQC, Unarmed Combat and Self-defence training (generic martial arts courses not applicable)
• Surveillance and Surveillance Detection
• Conflict Management

And other specialised training courses including:

• Celebrity and Special Event Protection
• K&R, Hostage Negotiation
• Explosives and IED
• Risk Assessment
• Maritime Protection
• Witness Protection
• Investigations and Intelligence gathering

All courses must specific and relevant to the role of the international Protection Officer.

Once accredited, training companies will be able to use the BBA international accreditation logo on letterheads, websites, brochures and on all publicity. We will also place your company onto our new Accreditation page on our website, place an advert for your training company in The Circuit magazine and in the right-hand column of every page of the BBA website, and market and promote your courses to our global database.

Once your accreditation has been processed you can then use the wording:

British Bodyguard Association International Accredited Training Provider.

Training Course Accredited by the British Bodyguard Association

A logo, Certificate of Accreditation and accreditation pack will be sent by International Courier.

With thousands of members, international course accreditation and a unique database of trained personnel, The BBA intends to become the biggest and most respected 'BG' association of its kind.

Important note: The British Bodyguard Association does not follow the UK's Security Industry Authority close protection course syllabus. Although many core skills and requirements are the same, we at the BBA fervently believe that ALL close protection officers should have some form of self-defence / CQC training, whereas currently the SIA does not believe that this should be a requirement for close protection training. It is very unlikely that any close protection course provider will get International BBA Course Accreditation if they do not provide some form of CQC / self defence training relevant and specific to their working environment.
