B2022 are looking for an established Head of Security Operations, to be a part of the Senior Management team of the Birmingham 2022 Security Functional Area. He/she will be responsible for leading and delivering Security Operations Scoping & Planning, this role will also lead on the procurement of Physical Security Systems (PSS) & develop the Corporate Security structure as it relates to Birmingham 2022.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop detailed delivery plans and an associated procurement strategy for the delivery of operational security solutions to meet Games’ requirements Responsible for leading and delivering the Birmingham 2022 Organising Committee’s operational security planning and delivery Recruit, develop and lead a team (Paid and contractors) to effectively manage all security program areas at Games time Manage any allocated budget and spend profile, setting high standards for quality control and governance Work closely with West Midlands Police and other Birmingham 2022 Partners in the development of the overarching operational security strategy for the Games Liaise closely with the Head of Venue Security and security delivery partners for Birmingham 2022, to ensure there is clarity in respect of roles and responsibilities Liaise with all security partners to ensure that there is a clear understanding of the impact of any capital projects on the security network and how they could impact the Games and work with partners to identify appropriate plans to mitigate any such impacts Ensure that the scope of the Security Strategy considers all Games-related activities i.e. the Sport Events during the Games, athlete training, test events, arrivals and departures and Opening and Closing Ceremonies and ensure that West Midlands Police Force also considers the requirements for the Cultural Events, Live sites and impact of road events Develop relevant Policies, Plans and Procedures as parameters for security operations activities and corporate security activities, ensuring the highest Health and Safety standards are met

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Recognised expertise, credibility, and leadership in Security planning with direct practical experience of large high profile and high threat events. Demonstrable contract/procurement management experience and a track record of ensuring that suppliers deliver on time and within budget Recognised expertise and experience in Security aspects of event planning and delivery at an international level, and recognised expertise and knowledge of the British security environment. Direct practical experience of providing technical/operational Security expertise to venues housing and supporting major sports events or equivalent events Significant experience in managerial level Security related roles including some major multi-sport event experience Demonstrated experience in managing a complex workforce, including a large contractor and volunteer workforce. Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary organisation and to build active, cooperative partnerships with external organisations in an integrated manner Proven skills and experience in analysing and acting on potential conflicts of interest in relation to interactions with other security stakeholders and, particularly, in relation to commercial providers and contractors Ability to creatively apply a high level of knowledge to devise bespoke strategies, delivered to tight deadlines

The role will be based at One Brindley Place, Birmingham, West Midlands with travel to venues as required

Salary Range for this role – £75,000 – £80,000 per annum
