Hints and Tips for Submitting
Who can submit an article?
Anyone can submit articles for The Circuit Magazine but they need to be:
Topical to the security industry
Interesting
Written in English
If English is not your first language or you do not feel comfortable as a writer then please do not be put off as we can help out with editing and we do have a proof reading facility.
How long does an article need to be?
We accept articles of any size, but as a guide …
600 words with an image is around 1 page in length.
2000+ words may be spread across 2 issues (Editors discretion)
What size do images need to be?
Images not high enough in resolution will not be published.
Ideal resolution: 300 dpi
Do you publish all submissions?
We do not promise to publish all articles submitted.
If we do accept an article for publication, we cannot specifiy which edition it will appear in. We do endeavor to get your article in as soon as possible, so long as it meets the requirements listed here.
What factors affect articles getting included?
Pagination – We print a set amount of pages and once that figure is reached then we are full.
Balance – Each issue is considered in great detail and the articles must balance out. We cannot have an issue full of unarmed combat articles for example so, if you submit one for an issue that is already heavy with certain articles then it may well slip to a future issue.
Deadline day – We have deadlines just like any other publisher so, the sooner you get yours in the sooner we can start planning that issue and the better chance it will have of making it.
What do I get from submitting an article?
We do not pay people to write for us but neither do we charge. What contributors do get are their contact details, company logo and a small bio about themselves at the end of the article. This will give you great exposure throughout the industry and who knows what that may lead to.
Many of our contributors like to place their published articles on their own websites and we are fully supportive of this, all we ask is that you give the magazine a mention on your site.
